Misconduct & Plagiarism Policy
The Journal of Global Engineering Review (JGER) maintains a strict commitment to ethical publishing practices. The journal expects that all submitted work is original, accurately reported, and prepared in accordance with professional academic standards. Any form of fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical authorship practice is considered unacceptable. The editorial office reserves the right to investigate suspected misconduct and, when necessary, inform appropriate academic or institutional authorities.
Handling of Errors and Misconduct
If inaccuracies, omissions, or technical errors are identified in a published article, the journal may issue a formal correction. In cases where findings are unreliable, manipulated, or derived from unethical practices, a retraction notice may be published. When concerns arise but investigations are incomplete, the journal may release an expression of concern. The decision to correct, retract, or notify stakeholders is based on the severity of the issue and the impact on scientific integrity.
If misconduct is confirmed, editorial actions may include:
- Notification of the author’s institution or funding organization
- Temporary or permanent restrictions on future submissions
- Retraction of the published article
Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, paraphrasing without citation, data appropriation, or reproduction of previously published work without credit, is prohibited. Authors are required to properly reference all text, data, figures, and ideas taken from other sources. Submissions containing plagiarized content will be rejected immediately.
Similarity and AI-Generated Text Screening
All manuscripts are screened using professional similarity-detection tools. The journal also evaluates linguistic patterns to identify heavy reliance on automated content-generation systems. Manuscripts with excessive textual similarity or AI-generated content may be declined without external review.
Allowed Reuse of Content
Select forms of text reuse are permitted provided the work belongs to the authors and proper attribution is given, such as:
- Material derived from the author’s thesis or dissertation
- Abstracts, posters, or preprint versions of the same study
- Data reported in recognized research registries
Authors revising or translating previously published material must secure permission from the copyright holder and clearly acknowledge the original source.
Consequences of Violations
Confirmed cases of plagiarism or intentional misconduct will result in rejection or retraction of the article. In severe cases, the journal may impose long-term submission bans and notify relevant academic authorities. These actions align with best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to protect the integrity of academic research.
